How Often Should Paid Ads Be Reported?
By Adedon · Updated 2026-08-14
How often should you report on paid ads?
Report paid ads on a cadence that matches spend volatility and the audience: daily or near-daily operational checks for delivery, a weekly written note for marketers, and a monthly (or biweekly) leadership summary. Reporting every metric every day to the CEO produces bad decisions. Reporting once a quarter produces surprises. The numbers can update continuously; the narrative should not.
Daily is a check, not a memoir
Pacing, outages, disapprovals. A Slack line is enough. Do not write a strategy essay on Tuesday CPA for a 14-day sales cycle.
Weekly is the operating rhythm
This is where tests, negatives, and creative notes live. Most Adedon Done For You retainers include a weekly operational rhythm unless spend is tiny.
Monthly is for altitude
Trends, what we learned, what we will not repeat, budget for next month. Leadership should not have to reconstruct this from four weekly PDFs.
Match to sales cycle
If deals close in 60 days, weekly CPA needs a lag footnote. Increase the weight of monthly cohort views. Cadence without lag awareness is how good programs get cancelled on noise.
Frequently asked questions
Can I have a live dashboard instead of reports?+−
You can have both. Someone still has to write the ask. Dashboards do not recommend.
What if spend is very small?+−
Weekly may be too often for a deep read; biweekly diagnosis plus daily light checks can be enough. Do not pay for theater.
Should reports land on the same weekday?+−
Yes. Ritual beats heroics. Pick a day after most of the week’s conversions have a chance to show.
