How much does Google Ads management cost?
Google Ads management usually costs a monthly retainer, a percent of ad spend, or a hybrid, often with a setup fee for tracking and rebuilds. The fee should reflect query work, conversion tracking, creative or RSA testing, and whether Performance Max or YouTube is in scope — not only media volume. Adedon scopes operated Google work inside Done With You (setup $1,500–$5,000, then $1,000–$2,500 per month) or Done For You (setup $3,000–$8,000, then $2,000–$5,000 per month), depending on complexity and whether Meta is included.
Percent of spend versus retainer
Percent of spend is easy to pitch and can misalign incentives when the right move is to cut waste. Retainers tied to a spend band and a deliverable list are easier to audit. If a quote is ‘10% of spend’ with no mention of negatives, conversion setup, or reporting, you are buying a black box.
Setup is not optional on messy accounts
Inherited accounts often have duplicate conversions, broad match chaos, and brand campaigns mixed with non-brand. Setup fees pay for an audit and a structure you can defend. Monthly fees cannot honestly include a full rebuild every month.
Media spend is billed by Google
Management fees do not include clicks. Compare total cost to acquire a qualified result. A low retainer that never reads search terms can waste more media than a higher retainer that does.
What changes the quote
Lead quality work with a CRM, Shopping feeds, multiple locations, and bilingual campaigns all add time. Google-only with one location sits lower than Google plus Meta across two brands.
Adedon’s commercial path
You are hiring operators. The advertising OS is coming soon and is not sold as a live self-serve Google tool here. Ask for a scoped package: Done For You if you want it run, Done With You if your team will stay in the account with us.
Frequently asked questions
Why do Google management fees look like Meta fees?+−
The operating cadence is similar even though the platforms differ. Combined Meta+Google retainers are often more efficient than two separate agencies that do not share reporting.
Is Google’s own optimization score a substitute for management?+−
No. Recommendations include items that raise Google’s revenue. An operator should accept or reject them with a reason.
Do you charge extra for landing pages?+−
Creative and landing-page production may be in scope or billed separately. Get that in the statement of work so the retainer is comparable.
