How Much Should You Spend on Google Ads?

How much should a business spend on Google Ads?
Spend on Google Ads what your economics and capacity can support, at a level that can buy enough converting clicks to learn. Search demand is finite: you cannot spend an infinite budget on a tiny geo and a rare query. If impression share is lost to budget on profitable queries, spend may be too low. If you are already on page one for junk, spend may be too high or too sloppy. There is no honest universal percent of revenue.
Start with demand, not a round number
Keyword Planner and impression share (used cautiously) sketch whether demand exists. A niche B2B term in one city may not absorb a large daily budget. A national ecommerce query set might. Let demand cap the dream.
Economics set the ceiling
If a qualified lead is worth a known contribution, you can afford a CPA band. If you do not know close rates, Google spend is a research project — budget it like one, with a stop date.
Lost impression share to budget versus rank
Lost IS (budget) on converting non-brand terms is a signal to consider more spend or tighter structure. Lost IS (rank) is quality and bid. Do not add budget to a campaign that is losing on junk queries.
Coordinate with Meta
Google Search often harvests demand Meta helped create, or vice versa. Move spend with a blended view. Starving a converting Search campaign to ‘give Facebook more’ without a hypothesis is how blended CAC quietly rises.
Adedon’s spend conversations
We propose a test band and a scale band. You approve increases. We will say when spend is ahead of conversion quality or landing-page capacity. Management retainers are separate from media.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a minimum Google Ads budget?+−
There is a practical floor: enough clicks to see patterns before the month ends. That floor depends on CPC in your auction, which varies wildly by industry and geo.
Should I spend more on brand?+−
Spend enough to defend your name if competitors or resellers bid on it. Do not let brand become the whole success story.
What if Google recommends a much higher budget?+−
Recommendations often assume you want more volume at similar efficiency. That assumption can be wrong. Treat the recommendation as a scenario, not an instruction.
